More than half a century after the original first performance of the legendary play, during the summer of 1962, George Valaris presents a modern version in 2020. A modern and spectacular extravaganza, an ode to Mikis Theodorakis and his timeless tunes. Mikis Theodorakis' poetry is transferred for the first time to a theatrical stage where in George Valaris' prose script, numerous contemporary subjects of human existence and Greek society are brought up, creating a modern ''folk tragedy''. The show was highly acclaimed by both the audience and critics. It was performed succesfully at Odeon of Herodes Atticus in September 2020 and carries its success at the Megaro Mousikis in Athens and Thessaloniki to the 2020-21 season.
